Kevin Chen

Kevin Chen is a technical professional currently serving as a Member of Technical Staff at OpenAI since December 2024. Prior to this role, Kevin held the position of Tech Lead Manager for Ground Truth at Nuro from August 2018 to September 2023, where responsibilities included developing semantic search, data labeling, and 3D visualization tools to enhance machine learning model development for autonomous vehicle technology. Earlier experience includes a Software Engineer role focused on perception for the Nuro R2 vehicle and a Research Engineering Internship at Snap Inc. in computational imaging. At Columbia University, Kevin served as a Head Teaching Assistant and an Undergraduate Researcher, developing machine learning algorithms for malware detection. Kevin also contributed to Apple's software engineering team as an intern, improving Portrait Mode and identifying usability issues. Kevin holds a Master of Science and a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from Columbia University.
