Petri Burtsoff

Helsinki Correspondent at Monocle

Petri Burtsoff is an experienced journalist and analyst specializing in foreign news reporting, architecture, design, politics, and culture. Currently serving as the Helsinki Correspondent for Monocle since April 2017, Burtsoff contributes to Monocle Magazine, Konfekt, and Monocle 24 radio. Additionally, Burtsoff has been a Foreign News Reporter for Yle since October 2010, with previous roles as a Rome and East Africa Correspondent. From October 2006 to January 2014, Burtsoff worked as an Analyst for The Economist Intelligence Unit, focusing on Finnish political and economic developments. Prior experience includes a Business Development Manager role at Add Value Research Finland and research assistant positions at the Finnish Institute of International Affairs and American Express. Burtsoff holds a BA in International Relations with Development Studies from the University of Sussex and an MSc in Politics from the University of Helsinki.
