Heminda Jayaweera has a diverse work experience spanning various roles and industries. Heminda is currently a Member of the Council at the National Innovation Agency Sri Lanka. Prior to that, they served as a Board Member at TRACE Sri Lanka. Heminda is also the Co-Founder of Thuru, an organization that focuses on accelerating reforestation through technology innovation. Heminda has also co-founded ZeroTrash, a platform dedicated to promoting waste management. Heminda's entrepreneurial ventures include being the Co-Founder and Director of Venture Frontier Lanka, an integrated entrepreneurship platform, and the Director of Effective Solutions Pvt Ltd, an IoT startup. Heminda is also a Co-Founder and Director of Jendo Innovations (Pvt) Ltd, a platform aimed at predicting cardiovascular health. Heminda has contributed to the development of university sports in Sri Lanka as a Co-Founder of Moraspirit Initiative. Additionally, they have served as the Director of Planning and Operations at Sri Lanka Technological Campus. Heminda's involvement in the field of technology and entrepreneurship is evident through their role as a Council Member at the Computer Society of Sri Lanka, the apex body for ICT professionals in the country.
Heminda Jayaweera completed their B.Sc. in Electronic & Telecommunication Engineering from the University of Moratuwa during the period of 1998 to 2003. Later, they pursued an MBA in Management of Technology at the University of Moratuwa from 2006 to 2007.

Moraspirit more than a website is a social network in itself dedicated towards leveraging University level sports to the highest of standards through up-to-date reporting of sporting events and news and its undying commitment in rendering appropriate recognition and resources to improve the available infrastructure and create world class sportsmen and sportswomen in Sri Lanka. Universities in Sri Lanka have been well founded and popularly characterized by the ethos of academia overshadowing promising sporting talent. Moraspirit aspires to connect the entire sporting community and followers around the world for a common cause. Moraspirit is headed and funded by a group of University of Moratuwa Alumni committed to the cause, not only to give the due recognition and create a new era of University level sports as in developed Nations which even have Universities dedicated to sports, but also to draw the interest of the authorities, fans and private stakeholders towards intelligent University undergraduates with rounded personalities instilled with the invaluable qualities and disciplines nurtured by sports, who would be transgressing to the real world in their next phase in life.
