Postdoctoral Researcher at Morgridge Institute for Research

Alex Duckworth, Ph.D., currently serves as a Postdoctoral Researcher at the Morgridge Institute for Research, working in Timothy Grant’s lab since May 2023. Previous experience includes a role as a Visiting Scientist at New England Biolabs in mid-2022, along with research assistant positions at Indiana University Bloomington from August 2015 to August 2017. Alex Duckworth performed research in Jonathon Schlebach's lab, focusing on membrane protein function and trafficking, and contributed to studies in Martha Oakley’s lab on Structural Maintenance of Chromosome (SMC) proteins as an Undergraduate Research Assistant. Additionally, a Summer Research Internship at Eli Lilly and Company took place in June 2015. Alex Duckworth earned a Ph.D. in Integrated Program in Biochemistry from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in March 2023, following a Bachelor of Science with Highest Distinction and Departmental Honors in Biochemistry from Indiana University Bloomington in 2017.
