Gina Gallego - Lopez is an experienced Assistant Scientist at Morgridge Institute for Research. Gina has also worked as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the same institute. Currently, Gina serves as the Chicago Branch Director at MIRA USA Inc, a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting the social integration of immigrants in the United States. Gina has a Ph.D. in Immunology and Infectious Diseases from Washington State University and has held various research positions at institutions such as University of Wisconsin-Madison and Fundacion instituto de immunologia de Colombia FIDIC.

The Morgridge Institute for Research is a nonprofit biomedical institute exploring uncharted scientific territory to discover tomorrow’s cures. Morgridge works to improve human health through innovative, interdisciplinary biomedical discoveries, spark scientific curiosity and serve society through translational outcomes, in partnership with the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Research areas include regenerative biology and bioinformatics, virology, medical engineering, metabolism, core computational technology and bioethics.
