Agnes Vendiola

Director, Child Development Center at Mosholu Montefiore Community Center

Agnes Vendiola is the Director of the Child Development Center of MMCC. She has a Master’s Degree in Early Childhood Education and a NYS Teacher Certification. Prior to joining MMCC as Director in July 2014, Agnes was an elementary teacher for ten years teaching Mathematics and Science and in the evening, Agnes worked as a Part-time College Instructor teaching Developmental Reading; Early Childhood Development; Teaching Strategies 1-3, Mathematics and Communication Art in English. In 2004, she was promoted to Education Director. In 2012, she became the Educational Alignment Coordinator and was responsible for the educational component of a multi-center early childhood program. She is a proud mother of two beautiful children; Aisa and Christian who she consider to be her priceless jewels.

As a teacher, she believed in the saying…“if children did not learn, then the teacher did not teach”. As a leader, she believed that “good leaders practice what they preach,” and as a person, she believed that “tenderness and kindness are not signs of weakness and despair, but manifestations of strength, resolutions and confidence”.
