James A then joined The Y (YMCA) as a District Executive Director - Vice President, where they had full responsibility for the Baltimore region and implemented customer service improvement solutions. James also worked at Block by Block as a Vice President of Operations, providing executive leadership for business operations across 8 states and 20 sites. James A started their education in 2003 at Johnson & Wales University, where they pursued a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting and Business/Management. James A completed this program in 2006. James A then continued their studies at Johnson & Wales University and obtained a Master of Arts degree in Organizational Leadership (Strategic Innovation & Change Management) from 2006 to 2008.
In 2011, they attended the Questrom School of Business at Boston University and completed a certification in Improving Quality: Six Sigma Green Belt Certification focused on Operations & Technology Management.

MISSION To create community, share passion and inspire philantrophy. Founded in 2017, Movement (formerly El Cap) is the largest nationwide network of indoor climbing facilities. Movement is committed to growing the climbing community through a shared vision for outstanding customer service, inspirational designs, and highly engaged communities. Movement gyms feature bouldering, top-roping and lead climbing, as well as amenities like yoga studios, functional fitness, cardio zones and retail gear shops. Each facility caters to participants of all abilities – from competitive athletes to weekend adventurers and families. Presently, Movement is represented in Baltimore, Washington D.C., Bay Area, Denver, Dallas, Chicago, Orange County, and Portland.
