Lane Skyles is an experienced engineering and management professional with a robust background in aerospace and drilling solutions. Currently serving as the Orion Docking Mechanisms Subsystem Manager at MRI since February 2021, Lane coordinates multi-disciplinary engineering support across NASA and contractor teams for the Orion docking hardware development. Previously, Lane held various roles at NOV, including Director of Power Sections and District Operations Manager, overseeing product strategies and operations for drilling tools. Lane's early career includes positions as a Mechanical Systems Engineer at NASA, where responsibilities included the design of Space Station mechanisms, and as a Mechanical Design Engineer at Schlumberger, earning patents for roller cone drill bit designs. Lane's educational credentials include a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Texas A&M University, an MBA from the University of Houston-Clear Lake, and a Master of Divinity from the Seminary of the Southwest.
