James Cothron is an experienced Detective and Tactical Team Leader with a career spanning from December 2002 to the present. Currently serving as the Lieutenant of Investigative Services at Mt. Juliet Police Department, James holds multiple leadership positions including Tactical Command Director and Special Response Team Commander. Prior roles at Mt. Juliet also include Criminal Investigations Sergeant and SRT Team Leader. Previously, James worked as a Police Dispatcher at Lebanon Police Department from December 2002 to October 2005. Academic credentials include a Bachelor of Arts in Criminal Justice/Law Enforcement Administration from Cumberland University, scheduled for completion in July 2027, alongside relevant training from Northwestern University, Volunteer State Community College, and Tennessee Law Enforcement Training Academy, where James earned POST Certification as a Police Officer in 2008.
