Nandhitha Venkatesh began their work experience in 2014 as a Project Assistant at the Center for Advanced Research in Engineering (CARE). In 2015, they served as a Khorana Fellow at Washington University in St. Louis. Nandhitha then joined the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 2016 and held roles as a Research Scholar, where they worked on optimizing culture conditions and quantifying ammonium content in fermented cultures. Nandhitha continued their work at the university as a Ph.D. student in Plant Pathology and Fungal biology, focusing on fungal-bacterial co-culture studies. In 2020, they transitioned to WiSolve, where they worked as a Consultant until 2021. Currently, they are employed at MycoWorks as a Scientist, specializing in Solid State Fermentation, and serves as the Lead Scientist in Mycology and Genomics.

Nandhitha Venkatesh completed their Bachelor of Technology in Biotechnology from Shanmugha Arts, Science, Technology and Research Academy, from 2012 to 2016. Nandhitha then pursued a Doctor of Philosophy in an unspecified field of study at the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
