Joan Hewitt

Joan Hewitt is an experienced insurance and risk management professional currently serving as Sr. Manager of Insurance and Risk Management at the National Geographic Society since November 2022. Joan has an extensive tenure at National Geographic, having worked in various capacities since June 1981, including Risk Management & Insurance Manager and Insurance Administrator. Previous roles include Insurance and Risk Controls Specialist at the National Geographic Society from 2007 to 2011, and Executive Assistant at National Geographic - Digital Media from 2000 to 2007. Joan pursued education at Frederick Community College and Hagerstown Community College from 1981 to 1983.
