James Gridley is an accomplished geophysicist with extensive experience in various leadership roles, currently serving as the Director of the National Tsunami Warning Center at NOAA since December 2018. In addition, James is the President and Scientist at FocalPoint Monitoring, LLC since June 2016. Previously, James held significant positions including Chief Technical Adviser for Geophysics at Halliburton, where leadership was provided for microseismic research initiatives, and Program Manager at IRIS, overseeing multimillion-dollar international scientific programs. James's earlier work includes roles at BBN Technologies, the US Navy, and Fulcrum Science & Technology, where expertise in geophysics was applied to national interests. James holds a Ph.D. in Geophysics and Seismology from The University of Texas at El Paso, a J.D. from The University of Tulsa, a Master of Science from New Mexico Institute of Mining and Technology, and a Bachelor of Science from Northern Illinois University.
