Francesca Polverino

Francesca Polverino currently serves as a Medical Spokesperson for the American Lung Association and an Associate Editor for pulmonary research at Nature Portfolio. With extensive experience in the field, Francesca holds standing membership on the Pulmonary Injury Repair and Remodelling Study Section at the National Institutes of Health and has editorial roles at the European Respiratory Journal. Francesca also serves as the Lester and Sue Smith Professor of Medicine at Baylor College of Medicine and previously held the position of Associate Professor there. Prior positions include significant roles in research and academia, including an Assistant Professorship at Harvard Medical School. Francesca's educational background includes dual PhDs from Harvard Medical School and Università degli Studi di Parma, along with a medical residency in Pulmonary Disease and an MD from Seconda Università degli Studi di Napoli.
