Rio Vetter began their work experience at NeuroNexus in 2004 as the Research, Development, and Engineering Lead. From 2004 to 2010, they held the role of Director of New Technologies. In 2019, Vetter became the Vice President and Chief Technology Officer. They briefly left the company in 2020 but returned in 2021 as the Chief Operating Officer and Chief Technology Officer.

Rio Vetter completed their education with a Bachelor of Science in Engineering (B.S.E.) in Bioengineering from Arizona State University. They then went on to pursue a Master of Science in Engineering (M.S.E.) in Bioengineering from Arizona State University as well. Rio Vetter continued their education by obtaining a PhD in Biomedical Engineering from the University of Michigan.
