Karen G. Gach

Deputy General Counsel at New York Independent System Operator

Ms. Gach oversees the company’s legal department and assists in the development of regulatory and compliance strategy. She advises the company on a wide variety of federal, state, and local legal issues. She served as Senior Attorney at the NYISO from July 2004 to 2010. Prior to that, Ms. Gach was an associate with the law firm of Nixon Peabody LLP, representing clients on energy and utility matters and, previously, an associate in the Washington, DC office of the law firm of Cullen and Dykman. Ms. Gach received her Juris Doctor, cum laude, from Albany Law School of Union University where she was the Editor-in-Chief of the Albany Law Journal of Science and Technology. She received a B.A. from the University of Rochester.
