Carolyn Bates

Carolyn Bates is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in commercial real estate research and analysis. Currently serving as the Regional Research Director for Mid-Atlantic at Newmark since April 2023, Carolyn leads a team focused on market fundamentals in the D.C. area. Previous roles include Advisory Consultant at Avison Young, where strategic studies were developed for institutional investors, and Vice President of Research at Bridge Investment Group, overseeing a research team for investment funds totaling $39 billion AUM. Carolyn has also held significant positions at JLL as Research Director and Manager, contributing to the Minneapolis-St. Paul market, and played a pivotal role in establishing a new research department at GREATER MSP Partnership. Educationally, Carolyn holds a Master's degree in Library and Information Science from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee and a Bachelor's degree in English from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
