Nicholas Theodore, MD, FACS, FAANS, serves as the Donlin M. Long Professor and Professor of Neurosurgery, Orthopaedics & Biomedical Engineering at Johns Hopkins Medicine, where Nicholas also directs the Neurosurgical Spine Program and the Complex Spine Fellowship Program, in addition to co-directing the Carnegie Center for Surgical Innovation. With experience as the Chairman of the Head, Neck & Spine Committee for the National Football League since April 2018, Nicholas previously led the Spine Section at Barrow Neurological Institute from July 2003 to June 2016 and was Co-Founder and Chief Medical Officer at Excelsius Surgical until its acquisition by Globus Medical in January 2014. Nicholas' prior military service includes the role of Chief of the Division of Neurosurgery at Naval Medical Center San Diego from July 2001 to June 2003. Nicholas holds an MD from Georgetown University School of Medicine and an AB in Government from Cornell University.
