Reinout van Riel is the chief risk officer and has been a member of Managing Board since 2016. He holds a master’s degree in Civil Law at Erasmus University in Rotterdam. From 1995 to 2013, Mr Van Riel worked for ABN AMRO Bank N.V. and Royal Bank of Scotland plc in several senior positions, based in Amsterdam, Brussels and Frankfurt, in credit portfolio management, global transaction services and as Head of Recoveries & Litigation EMEA at Royal Bank of Scotland plc. Prior to joining NIBC, Mr Van Riel was the chief portfolio officer and member of the managing board of the property management company, Propertize B.V from 2013 to 2016.
