Matt Burgess

Matt Burgess is an accomplished media professional with extensive experience in community engagement and entertainment journalism. Currently serving as the Senior Community Engagement Editor at Nine Publishing since September 2019, Matt has held various leadership positions including Community Manager for Metro Mastheads and Culture Sections Editor. Prior experience includes key roles at Fairfax Media, where Matt was the Head of Entertainment, and at The Age, where Matt contributed as Entertainment Editor and in various editorial capacities. Matt began a journalism career at Leader Community Newspapers and achieved a High Distinction in the Cadet Program. Educational qualifications include a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism from RMIT University and an Advanced Diploma of Photography from the Photography Studies College in Melbourne.
