Rodrigo Sanchez-Camus serves as the Director of Legal, Organizing, & Advocacy at the Northern Manhattan Improvement Corporation (NMIC) since January 2017, and has been a Supervising Attorney at the same organization since September 2005. In addition, Rodrigo has contributed to the academic field as an Adjunct Professor at the City College of New York since September 2009. Prior experience includes a role as a Staff Attorney at the Urban Justice Center from June 2002 to August 2005. Rodrigo Sanchez-Camus earned a Juris Doctor degree from Columbia Law School between 1999 and 2002 and holds a Bachelor of Arts in Urban Legal Studies from The City College of New York, obtained from 1993 to 1998.

NMIC was founded in 1979 to serve the low-income residents of Upper Manhattan. Our mission is to serve as a catalyst for positive change in the lives of the people in our community on their paths to secure and prosperous futures. Through our work, we preserve affordable housing through legal services, community organizing, and building weatherization, promote economic self-sufficiency with adult education and workforce development and offer supports of social services, health education, and domestic violence intervention. All NMIC services are free and bilingual in English and Spanish.
