Nordic Urban Resilience Institute

Nordic Urban Resilience Institute (NURI) helps organisations to build capacity on urban resilience by facilitating and providing an exclusive network of expertise. The experience from our ongoing facilitation of Resilient Regions Association (since 2010) is the base on which the institute continues to develop and has made the organization one of the leading experts on public-private partnership. In addition to this NURI is offering capacity building services such as knowledge building, trainings, and future scenario planning and related consulting services. NURI is a private institute founded 2019 in Sweden. Cities experience pressures and stresses, sudden and shocking as well as chronic. The most urgent challenges facing our society range from climate change, urbanization, and aging cities to disruptive technologies. They are all impacting the functionality of our cities and regions. All cities must maintain its’ functionality during these stresses. If we fail, the cost of a city out of order is far beyond the obvious direct costs. Canceled and delayed meetings, deliveries, surgeries, transportation, etc. all add up to a greater total loss. By investing in urban resilience, with smart and sustainable solutions, we are creating added value in daily life. Working with urban resilience enables great savings and creates co-benefits for us all.
