Connie Yowell currently serves as the Senior Vice Chancellor for Education Innovation at Northeastern University since November 2020, following a role as Executive Vice President at Southern New Hampshire University from October 2018 to November 2020. Previously, Yowell was CEO of LRNG by Collective Shift from August 2015 to October 2018 and Director of Education at the MacArthur Foundation from 2000 to 2015, where oversight included a $250 million program focused on the impact of digital media on youth and the development of innovative educational approaches. Earlier experience includes serving as Associate Professor of Policy Studies at the University of Illinois at Chicago from 1994 to 2000, teaching various education and social policy courses, and a brief role as a Policy Analyst at the U.S. Department of Education in 1993. Yowell holds a PhD in Education, Developmental Psychology from Stanford University and a BA in Psychology from Yale University.
