David Povall

EVP, Offshore Wind at Northland Power Inc

As Executive Vice President of Offshore Wind, David is responsible for leading the company’s global offshore wind business, which consists of operating assets and projects in construction and development. Through his strategic and operational ability to identify and deliver projects, David will manage Northland’s global offshore wind team with the objective of optimizing the performance of its operational assets, as well as delivering on its project pipeline to achieve commercial operations on time, within budget, and safely. He joined the company in October 2019.

David is a seasoned executive with over 25 years of experience in the international power generation industry. Prior to joining Northland, David served as Chief Executive Officer of Acacia Renewables, a Macquarie-owned developer focused on the Japanese market. Prior to that, David led RES Group’s Asia-Pacific business and has held senior roles in various teams, across a range of energy technologies, throughout Europe and Australasia.

David holds a Master of Business Administration from the University of Manchester, as well as a Bachelor of Civil Engineering from the Imperial College London.
