Ahmad Lotfi is a Professor of Computational Intelligence and the Head of the Department of Computer Science at Nottingham Trent University, with a career beginning in December 2000. Lotfi's research specializes in the identification of behavioral changes in elderly individuals with cognitive impairments, utilizing sensor networks and robotics to assist caregivers. Previous roles include being a Reader in Computational Intelligence, focusing on areas such as Ambient Computing, Robotics, and Intelligent Data Analysis, along with teaching various undergraduate and postgraduate courses related to control systems and intelligent computing. Lotfi's earlier experience includes serving as a Senior Lecturer at Staffordshire University and a Research Student at the University of Queensland, where a PhD in Computational Intelligence was obtained. Educational qualifications also include an MTech from the Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi, and a BEng from Isfahan University of Technology.
