Joanna Sutherland

Joanna Sutherland serves as the SoFlo Writing Project Graduate Assistant Coordinator at Nova Southeastern University, beginning January 2024, where efforts focus on developing an annual writing institute for South Florida English teachers. With a robust background in education, Joanna worked as a highly effective English Language Arts educator in Broward County Public Schools from August 2016 to September 2024, where responsibilities included creating innovative instructional materials for grades 9 through 12. Previous experience encompasses roles such as Customer Service Team Leader at LWK Kitchens, Senior Caseworker at Paragon Law Ltd, and Caseworker at Refugee and Migrant Justice. Joanna holds a Master of Arts in Composition, Rhetoric, and Digital Media from Nova Southeastern University, along with a variety of training and certifications in fields related to journalism, photography, and writing.
