Karen R. Wood has a diverse work experience spanning over several years. Karen R. began their career as a Stay-at-Home Wife and Mother of Four from 1994 to 2009. In 2009, they joined Nth Generation Computing, Inc. as a Manager of Shared Services and Human Resources Generalist. Karen R. then progressed to become a Manager of HR & Shared Services from 2011 to 2014, and later as a Director of HR & Shared Services from 2014 to 2016.
In 2016, Karen joined EDF Renewables North America as a Director of Human Resources Business Partner, where they provided HR leadership and execution across various departments and areas of responsibility.
Karen returned to Nth Generation Computing in 2019, this time as the Senior Director of HR & Shared Services. In this role, they were responsible for the development and implementation of the company's human resources program, focusing on building upon the existing culture and aligning HR and talent management strategies with business initiatives.
From December 2021 to December 2022, Karen held the position of Vice President of Human Resources at Nth Generation Computing, further elevating their role and responsibilities within the company.
Karen R. Wood obtained their BA in Philosophy from the University of San Diego in 1991. Karen R. then went on to earn their JD in Law from Western State College of Law in 1995. Karen R. also holds several certifications, including the Society for Human Resource Management Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) from SHRM in 2015, Strategic HR Business Partner (sHRBP) from the Human Capital Institute (HCI) in 2015, Professional in Human Resources (PHR) from the HR Certification Institute - HRCI in 2011, and a Human Resource Management Certificate from California State University San Marcos in 2010.
