John Thompson

John Thompson is a dedicated mental health professional currently serving as a Mental Health Counselor at Nystrom & Associates, Ltd. since January 2022 and as an EMDR Therapist in private practice since May 2023. John has extensive experience in leadership and program management within the Minnesota National Guard, holding the position of Command Sergeant Major and serving as the Sexual Assault Response Coordinator. Additionally, John has provided mental health counseling services as an intern at Minnesota Adult and Teen Challenge, has trained military personnel as a SHARP Trainer for the National Guard Bureau, and possesses a strong background in aviation mechanics from previous roles at Northwest Airlines, Sikorsky Aircraft, and the United States Marine Corps. John earned a Master of Science in Mental Health Counseling from Capella University, enhancing a commitment to mental health advocacy and support.
