André Heinz

Venture Partner at Obvious Ventures

André, a Venture Partner at Obvious Ventures, is a veteran sustainable systems investor. He co-founded the Sustainable Technologies Fund, the first Nordic focused cleantech venture fund.

He has served on the boards of the American Chamber of Commerce in Sweden, and The Heinz Center for Science, Economics and the Environment, which sought to bring researchers, environmentalists and business leaders together to jointly address society’s most pressing environmental challenges.

André Heinz, Chairman of the Board of The Heinz Endowments, heads one of the largest and most active private foundations in the U.S. Under his leadership, the Endowments, which has assets of over $1.5 billion, recently restructured its work around a core mission of fostering equity and the promotion of a more just community. The foundation also narrowed its priorities to focus on three main areas of giving: Sustainability, Creativity and Learning.

A graduate of Georgetown University, André received a Master’s Degree in Environmental Studies at the Yale School of Forestry and Environmental Studies. He is a member of the Yale FES Leadership Council.
