Ed Felten is a prominent figure in the fields of computer science and public affairs, currently serving as Co-Founder and Chief Scientist at Offchain Labs since September 2018 and as the Robert E. Kahn Professor of Computer Science and Public Affairs at Princeton University since September 1993. Additionally, Felten has contributed to national policy as a Board Member of the Privacy and Civil Liberties Oversight Board (PCLOB) since October 2018, and previously held the role of Deputy U.S. Chief Technology Officer at The White House from June 2015 to January 2017, as well as Chief Technologist at the Federal Trade Commission from January 2011 to August 2012. An alumnus of Caltech, Felten earned a B.S. in Physics in 1985 and completed a Ph.D. in Computer Science and Engineering at the University of Washington in 1993.
