Rachel Sawyer serves as the Principal Technical Lead at Okane Consultants since April 2023. Prior experience includes various leadership roles at Suncor from August 2015 to March 2023, such as Director of Mine Technical for Fort Hills and Director of Tailings Development. Rachel held the position of Manager of Geotechnical Engineering at Norwest Corporation from May 2003 to May 2014. Prior to that, at AMEC, responsibilities included geotechnical contributions to oil sands mining operations, and at Fording Coal Limited, Rachel focused on mine planning and geotechnical inspections. Rachel obtained a B.Sc. in Geological Engineering from the University of Saskatchewan between 1994 and 1999.
