Arun Shome

Arun Shome is a Patent Prosecution Associate at Oliff PLC since November 2019, specializing in electrical, mechanical, and software patent applications. Prior to this role, Arun served as an Associate at Sughrue Mion PLLC in the Electromechanical Practice Group from September 2015 to November 2019, focusing on patent prosecution. Arun's experience includes working as a Patent Analyst at Landon IP from August 2010 to August 2014, where responsibilities included conducting searches for mechanical inventions and creating patent landscape studies. Additionally, Arun was a Patent Examiner at the United States Patent and Trademark Office from February 2008 to August 2009, covering respiratory devices and kinesitherapy. Beginning a career in technology analysis, Arun worked at Foresight Science and Technology from July 2005 to January 2008, conducting market research and technology assessments for medical device and biotechnology sectors. Arun holds a Juris Doctor degree with a Patent Law Track from George Mason University's Antonin Scalia Law School and a Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Engineering from The Johns Hopkins University.
