Bill Handyside has a diverse work experience in the manufacturing and operations field. Bill is currently working as the Director of Operations at ONI since January 2023. Prior to that, they served as the Director of Manufacturing at ONI from July 2022 to January 2023. Before joining ONI, Bill worked at Chromacity Ltd as the Head of Manufacturing from June 2019 to July 2022. Bill also worked at UniKLasers as the Manufacturing Director from January 2018 to May 2019. Bill's earlier roles include positions at M Squared Lasers, where they served as the Product Manufacturing Specialist from September 2016 to July 2017. Bill was also a Manufacturing Engineering, Custom Lasers and Training Manager, Manufacturing Manager for Single Frequency Products, and Manufacturing Team Leader at M Squared Lasers between September 2013 and January 2016. Additionally, Bill worked at M Squared Lasers as a Senior Production Laser Engineer from September 2011 to September 2012, and as a Laser Engineer from September 2010 to September 2011.
Bill Handyside completed their education with a Bachelor's degree in Physics from the University of St Andrews, starting in 2005 and finishing in 2009. Prior to that, they attended Viewforth High School from 1999 to 2005. After obtaining their Bachelor's degree, Bill went on to pursue a Master of Science (MSc) degree in Photonics and Optoelectronic Devices from the University of St Andrews, which they completed between 2009 and 2010.
