Arthur de Waleffe worked as a GNC Engineer at Opener starting in April 2023. Prior to this, they worked at Garmin from July 2020 to March 2023 as a Flight Control Systems Engineer, where they developed autopilots for various airframes. Before that, they were a Graduate Teaching Assistant at Purdue University from August 2018 to May 2020, teaching mathematics courses and assisting with the Control Systems Laboratory. Arthur also completed their 2nd Lieutenant training at Belgian Defence from August 2014 to July 2018.
Arthur de Waleffe began their education in 2015 when they enrolled at the Royal Military Academy in Belgium, where they obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering with a focus on Mechanical engineering in 2018. Following this, from 2018 to 2020, Arthur attended Purdue University, where they pursued a Master of Science degree in Aeronautical and Astronautical Engineering. During their time at Purdue, they specialized in Dynamics & Control and Systems Design & Optimization.
In addition to their formal education, Arthur de Waleffe obtained additional certifications. In August 2021, they acquired the USPA A License from the U.S. Parachute Association (USPA). Furthermore, in February 2021, Arthur obtained a Private Aircraft Pilot certification from the Federal Aviation Administration.
