Troy Thompson is an experienced social worker and clinical professional with a diverse background in addiction services and mental health support. Currently serving as a Social Worker for the Ottawa Catholic School Board since August 2019, Troy has played a crucial role in addressing barriers to school attendance for students. Previously, Troy held significant positions such as Clinical Director and Manager of Residential Services at Dave Smith Youth Treatment Centre, where responsibilities included overseeing clinical activities for adolescents and their families. Additional experience includes consulting for Indigenous communities at Indian and Northern Affairs Canada and teaching multiple social work courses at Algonquin College. Troy has also managed addiction services at The Ottawa Mission and completed an MSW internship at The Ottawa Hospital. Troy holds a Master's of Social Work and Bachelor’s degrees in Social Work and Law from Carleton University, as well as an educational experience at the University of Toronto's Rotman School of Management.
