John Slater is a seasoned design professional with extensive experience in product and furniture design. Currently serving as Lead Design Engineer at Oxbotica since April 2019, John also held the title of Prototype Vehicle Design Engineer. Previously, John worked at Gtech from January 2014 to April 2019 as an R&D Project Lead and Mechanical/Product Design Engineer, and began as a Mechanical/Product Design Engineer (R&D) and Model Maker. As the owner of BUILD FIX FIT from August 2010 to December 2013, John specialized in bespoke joinery and furniture design, encompassing all aspects of property development. Prior experience includes serving as a Senior Product & Furniture Designer at AStudio and a Bench Joiner/Cabinet Maker at JB Building & Joinery. John holds a 1st class honours degree in furniture & product design from Buckinghamshire New University, completed in 2006.
