Kaylen Ocampo

Kaylen Ocampo is currently serving as a GEM Fellowship PhD Intern at Pacific Northwest National Laboratory since June 2023, while also pursuing a PhD as a Graduate Student Researcher at the University of Pittsburgh, a role held since August 2020. Previous research experience includes two fellowships at the National Energy Technology Laboratory, where investigations focused on coal and coal byproducts for rare earth element extraction and activated carbon production. Prior to these roles, Kaylen worked as a concessionist at Regal Entertainment Group and as a Health Scholar at COPE Health Solutions, gaining valuable customer service and patient care experience. Initial professional experience was at UNIQLO as a Sales Associate. Kaylen holds a Bachelor of Engineering in Chemical Engineering from California State Polytechnic University-Pomona, earned from 2017 to 2020.
