Alex Lyra has a diverse work experience in the oil and trading industry. Alex started their career in 1999 at Repsol Spain, where they held various roles including Domestic Market Sales Representative, Bunker Trader & Business Development Coordinator, Fuel Oil, Feedstocks & Bitumen Trader, and Crude Oil Trader. In 2010, Alex joined Banco Santander as a VP - Oil Derivatives Trader. Since 2012, they have been working at Peninsula Petroleum, starting as a Supply & Risk Manager, then progressing to the role of Global Head of Physical Supply & Risk Management, and currently serving as the Global Head of Supply & Trading.

From 1993 to 1998, Alex attended the Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro and earned a degree in Chemical Engineering with a major in Chemical Engineering.

In 1999, Alex pursued a Post Graduation degree in Oil Business at the Instituto Tecnológico de Buenos Aires.

In 2007 to 2008, Alex pursued another Post Graduation degree in Management at the Instituto Superior de Energia in Madrid.

In 2004, Alex attended the COPPEAD Business School in Rio de Janeiro and obtained an MBA degree with a focus on Logistic.
