Marcus Woods has extensive work experience in the wine industry. Marcus started their career at Cranswick Premium Wines as an Assistant Vineyard Manager in 1999 and later became a Vineyard Manager at Houghton Wines in 2001. In 2005, they joined Leasingham Wines as a Vineyard Manager before moving on to Constellation Wines Australia in 2008, where they served as both a Group Corporate Social Responsibility Manager and a Group Operations Manager. Marcus then joined Accolade Wines in 2011 as a Group Operations Manager and worked there until 2013. In the same year, they took a role as a Lecturer of Wine Business Management at The University of Adelaide. In 2014, they joined Bickfords Australia as an Operations Manager - Regional Sites and stayed there until 2018. During this period, they also served as a Non-Executive Director at The Australian Wine Research Institute. Currently, Marcus is working at Pernod Ricard Winemakers, where they hold the positions of Wine Supply Director and Operations Director, starting in 2018.

Marcus Woods completed a Senior Managers Program at Mt Eliza Business School in 2012. Prior to that, they obtained a Masters degree in Business Administration from Charles Sturt University from 2003 to 2005. Their undergraduate education includes a Bachelor degree in Applied Science (Viticulture) from Charles Sturt University, which they completed from 1996 to 1999.
