Pedro Arellano has extensive experience in workforce development and security, currently serving as a Workforce Development Specialist at Pikes Peak Workforce Center since March 2021. Prior to this role, Pedro was the Manager of Work Initiative at Springs Rescue Mission from February 2018 to February 2020. An extensive background in security includes a position as a Security Specialist in the Intelligence & Security Division from October 2000 to February 2018, following a career as a Combat Engineer in the US Army from September 1987 to May 2000. Educational credentials include a Master of Social Work (MSW) from Newman University (2014-2018) and a Bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice/Human Services from Colorado Technical University (2010-2014). Pedro graduated from Abraham Lincoln High School in Denver, Colorado in 1987.

The Pikes Peak Workforce Center is an American Job Center serving El Paso and Teller counties that connects vital businesses with work-ready job seekers and employer-driven services. Last year, we served more than 39,000 clients including more than 10,000 veterans and over 1,000 young adults. We provide no-cost job seeker services from resume assistance, interview training, computer skills training and more. Clients range from entry-level to professional; include youth, adults, people returning to the workforce, underemployed and those with barriers to employment. Veterans always receive priority service. In support of regional employers, we host tailored, no-cost recruitment and hiring events including candidate sourcing, group and individual pre-employment assessments, provide a job database of searchable candidate profiles and more.
