Bridget Hansen Rand

Bridget Hansen Rand, Ph.D., currently serves as the Director of Discovery and Translational Research at Pivot Bio, a position held since March 2021, where Bridget has progressed through several roles including Scientist I to III. Prior to this, Bridget was a Doctoral Student at the University of California, Berkeley, from August 2016 to February 2021, focusing on the ecological role of natural products in plant and microbial biology. Bridget also held research fellowships at the Romberg Tiburon Center for Environmental Studies and UC Berkeley, investigating the effects of climate change on harmful algal species and diatom physiology, respectively. Educational qualifications include a Ph.D. in Microbiology from UC Berkeley and a BS in Microbiology and Chemistry from San Francisco State University. Early career experiences include management and instructional roles at Aquatech and Jamba Juice.
