Matthew O'Connell

Matthew O'Connell is an experienced finance professional currently serving as Vice President of Restructuring & Special Situations at PJT Partners since March 2016. Prior to this role, Matthew was an Associate in Leveraged Finance at Bank of America Merrill Lynch, where responsibilities included the origination and execution of leveraged loan and high yield bond financing from July 2014 to March 2016. Matthew also participated in the Global Investment Banking MBA Intern Program during a summer associate position at the same firm in 2013. Earlier in career, Matthew worked at Greenwich Associates from January 2007 to July 2012, holding positions such as Associate Consultant, Senior Client Associate & Team Leader, and Senior Research Associate, providing strategic consulting, managing client relationships, and developing market research in the financial services sector. Matthew holds a Bachelor of Arts in Economics and Political Science from the University of Connecticut and an MBA in Finance from UCLA Anderson School of Management.
