Ceibal Plan
Fiorella Haim obtained the degree of Electronic Engineering at the University of the Republic (Uruguay) in 2002, and in 2005 the title of Master of Science at the University of Maryland (USA) with the support of a Fulbright scholarship. Between 2006 and 2009 she was Head of the Department of Electronics at LATU and responsible for the Technical Area of Ceibal. Since the creation of Centro Ceibal in 2010, she is Ceibal's Operations Manager, since 2012 she is Deputy General Manager and in March 2016 she assumes the General Management of Centro Ceibal. Since 2001 she has been a professor at the Institute of Electrical Engineering of the Faculty of Engineering (UdelaR), in the area of digital systems, being since 2013 Adjunct Professor. She has worked professionally on Biomedical Engineering, Industrial Control an Electronic Applications integration projects, and has published papers in conferences and specialized magazines in these areas, integrating the National System of Researchers between 2008 and 2012.

Ceibal Plan
In December 2006, President Tabaré Vázquez announced that the Ceibal Plan would be launched and that with it, every student and teacher in public schools throughout the country would receive a free laptop. That was the kickoff for this ambitious socio-educational project, which puts Uruguay at the forefront in reducing the digital divide, inclusion, and equity in access to education.
