Patrick Brown has a diverse work experience. Patrick is the Founder of Impossible Foods Inc. and Lyrical Foods, which they started in 2011. In addition to their entrepreneurial ventures, they have held academic positions at Stanford University School of Medicine as a Professor of Biochemistry, Emeritus since 2014. Patrick was also a Professor of Biochemistry at Howard Hughes Medical Institute/Stanford University from 1988 to 2013. Furthermore, they have served as a Scientific Advisor at Canary Foundation, St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, and UCSF. Prior to their academic career, they worked as a Pediatric Resident at Children's Memorial Hospital and as a Post-doctoral fellow at UCSF.
Patrick Brown attended the University of Chicago from 1972 to 1976, where they obtained an undisclosed degree. Patrick then pursued further education at the University of Chicago Pritzker School of Medicine from 1976 to 1982, earning a Medical Doctor (MD) degree. In parallel, from 1977 to 1980, they also pursued a doctorate degree in Biochemistry at the same institution.
