Jorge Ortiz

Jorge Ortiz is an accomplished technology executive with extensive experience in information technology leadership. Currently serving as the Deputy Chief Information Officer at Popular since June 2020, Jorge oversees Enterprise Platforms, Infrastructure, Service Management, Enterprise Architecture, IT Strategy, Technology Risk, and IT Finance. Previously, Jorge held the position of Chief Information Officer at U.S. Bank, focusing on infrastructure engineering, corporate applications modernization, transformation initiatives, and enhancing employee technology experience. As CIO of BBVA in the USA, responsibilities included IT Infrastructure and Operations, CyberSecurity, and Process Transformation. Jorge's tenure at BBVA also included roles such as Global Director of Infrastructure and Communication and Director of IT Operations and Technical Services, where global strategy and service delivery for technical operations were pivotal. Early career experience includes serving as EVP Design and Development at BBVA Compass and VP Technology and Operations at BBVA Puerto Rico. Jorge holds a Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology from Universidad de Puerto Rico, obtained in 1992.
