Marlene Zurack

Marlene Zurack is the Chair at Project Renewal. Marlene has over 25 years of experience in the public and private sector, with a focus on health care finance and administration.

Marlene began their career in 1992 as the Deputy Director of the New York City Office of Management and Budget. In this role, they were responsible for overseeing all health and human services spending for New York City. Marlene also managed intergovernmental relations for the budget agency.

In 2000, Marlene joined the New York City Health and Hospitals Corporation as the Chief Financial Officer. In this role, they directed budget, revenue cycle, and treasury functions for the largest public hospital system in the country. Marlene served in this role for 15 years before joining White Hare Solutions in 2015.

Marlene has been with Project Renewal since 2016. In their current role as Vice Chair, they provide strategic direction and oversight for all aspects of the organization, including finance, fundraising, programmatic initiatives, and external affairs. Under their leadership, Project Renewal has become one of the largest social service providers in New York City, serving over 60,000 clients each year.

Marlene Zurack's educational career began with a Bachelor's degree in Labor and Industrial Relations from Cornell University. Marlene then went on to earn a Master's degree in Urban Planning from Columbia University.
