Mark Gromer began their work experience in the field of information technology in 1974 with the US Navy, where they served as a Cryptologist and gained experience with various systems. Mark ended their 20-year tenure in the military as a networking professional. In 1996, they joined Metrocall as a Sr Systems Manager, responsible for the WAN/LAN based server environment in the Southeast US. Their responsibilities included managing systems such as Novell, Windows, Linux, Routers, Switches, and Bridges. In 2001, Mark joined PCF, first as a Director of Networks and Infrastructure, and later as the Director of Network Infrastructure.

Mark Gromer began their education in 1974 at Miami Dade College, where they studied for a year until 1975. Mark then attended Pensacola Junior College from 1985 to 1986. Later, they enrolled at the University of West Florida in 1988 and completed their studies in 1989.
