James Tigue

James Tigue, PhD, is a seasoned roboticist and simulation software engineer currently working at The AI Institute, where contributions include the development of advanced physics-based and photorealistic robotic simulation tools in collaboration with leading institutions. Prior experience encompasses roles as Team Lead at Sarcos Technology and Robotics Corporation, managing interdisciplinary teams and driving research in simulation technologies, and as a Graduate Research Assistant at the University of Utah, focusing on biomechanical modeling and robotic applications. Additionally, James has participated in various research projects across multiple universities, including developing rehabilitation robots and conducting NSF-funded research in soft robotics for human-robot interaction. Academic qualifications include a PhD and MS in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Utah, complemented by a BS in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Idaho.
