Tim Perkins

Tim Perkins is a highly experienced roboticist with a robust background in software engineering and team leadership. Currently serving at RAI Institute since September 2023, Tim previously held the position of Staff Software Engineer at 6 River Systems, where extensive contributions to technical development and team dynamics were made. Earlier roles include Team Lead Manager at Motional, overseeing the Robotics Infrastructure Team, and Senior Software Engineer at Realtime Robotics, Inc., recognized as a key code contributor. Tim's career trajectory began at Optimus Ride as a Robotics Hacker, followed by significant contributions at Rethink Robotics, Inc. as Lead Developer on the Task Execution Engine. Tim also amassed experience as a Software Engineer at QinetiQ North America and as a Research Assistant at Lehigh University's VADER Lab. Tim holds a Master’s and Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering (Robotics) and Electrical Engineering, respectively, from Lehigh University.
