Velin Dimitrov

Velin Dimitrov is an accomplished electrical engineering manager and roboticist currently working at The AI Institute since February 2023. Prior to this role, Velin served at Toyota Research Institute from November 2017 to February 2023, where positions included senior research engineer and vehicle integration engineer. Velin's academic background includes a Ph.D. in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Northeastern University, a Master’s Degree in Robotics Engineering from Worcester Polytechnic Institute, and a Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Franklin W. Olin College of Engineering. Additional experience includes roles as a postdoctoral researcher, ROV intern, and applications engineer, contributing significantly to the fields of engineering and robotics throughout a progressive career.
