Leonid Sigal is a prominent figure in the field of computer science, currently serving as Co-founder and Chief Scientist at Beam AI since September 2021. In addition to this role, Leonid is a faculty member at the Vector Institute and an Academic Advisor at Borealis AI, both positions held since December 2018 and September 2018, respectively. At The University of British Columbia, Leonid has been an Associate Professor since September 2017. Previously, Leonid worked as a Senior Research Scientist at Disney Research from August 2010 to October 2017, and as a Postdoctoral Researcher at the University of Toronto from September 2007 to August 2009, following a summer internship at Intel Corporation in 2006. Leonid holds a Ph.D. in Computer Science from Brown University and a B.A. in Computer Science and Applied Mathematics from Boston University.
